I have to admit I’m a little embarrassed to post this today! I never really struggled with acne and at 26, never thought I would start. Unfortunately, my ‘later in life’ acne took me by surprise. Each day it would get worse and worse and before I knew it, had completely ruined my self esteem.

I obsessed over it and couldn’t understand why at my age it was spiraling out of control. I spent hours reading about different treatments, products and ‘cures’. I tried so many different products but nothing seemed to work. If anything, my acne only seemed to get worse.

When I had basically given up all hope I received a package filled with Tula skincare products and saw the simple 3 step process. I honestly wasn’t expecting the process to work but was so desperate and figured I would give a new skincare routine ‘one last try’. I told myself that I was going to try the products for four weeks (without introducing anything new) and would do the 3 step process each morning and night, regardless if my acne got better or worse.

At first, my acne didn’t seem to get better but it definitely wasn’t getting worse which was a huge win for me. Then, around week 3, I noticed it getting better and the large cysts drastically reducing in size. I can’t even begin to explain how happy I was!

It took about 6 weeks but for the most part, as you can see in the photos below, my acne cleared up. It’s still not perfect and I still have a long ways to go with the scars but I’m so thankful for the Tula products that I found. They absolutely worked wonders for me, weren’t overly complicated or difficult to use, and gentle on my skin.

I linked each of the products I used below and gave a brief recap on each. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I understand how terrible it can be facing acne and want to help anyone I can.

Disclaimer: Please excuse the photos below. I took the photos for myself so that I could document the changes each week and never thought I was going to share them! My skin still isn’t perfect and I still have lots of red marks but I’m hoping over time I can get to glowing skin once again!

Step 1: The Cult Classic Purifying Cleanser

I love this cleanser because it completely removes makeup and deeply cleans your skin without drying it out.

Step 2: Acne Clearing + Tone Correcting Gel

This has been LIFE CHANGING for me! All of the other acne treatments I tried were super drying and caused my skin to peel which would ultimately make my acne worse. I love this gel because it’s aggressive but still gentle. It contains 2% Salicylic Acid. Salicylic Acid fights acne and blackheads by reducing the number of dead skin cells you have in your pores.

Step 3: Dew Your Thing Oil-Free Gel Cream

For me, the best part about this moisturizer is that it’s oil-free. When my acne first started getting bad I often found myself not wanting to use moisturizers because my face already felt so oily and gross. I was so excited when I discovered this moisturizer because it was the complete opposite. It’s super lightweight and feels ‘clean’. Plus, it’s very calming to my skin and reduces redness.

So Polished Exfoliating Sugar Scrub

This sugar scrub isn’t apart of my daily routine but it’s apart of my weekly routine. I use the scrub three times a week directly after I wash my face and before I apply Step 2 of my routine. I started using this Sugar Scrub once I learned that one of the main causes of acne is from dead skin accumulating in your pores. This sugar scrub exfoliates your skin so smoothly and removes any excessive cell build up deep from your pores. I feel like my skin always feels much more ‘glowy’ after I use this product.

Daily Probiotic & Skin Health Complex

I just ordered these because I heard the most amazing things about them! They’re supposed to come in the mail this week and I can’t wait to try them. They help your skin retain moisture and help with your overall skin tone and texture. They contain three strains of probiotics, ceramides, and Vitamin C. Stay tuned and I’ll give you an updated review in a few weeks!

Thank you Tula for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
